BREAKING: Bandits Kidnap Dozens of Federal University of Gusau Students

An unspecified number of students from the Federal University of Gusau have been kidnapped by bandits in the early hours of Friday.

The armed bandits in large numbers, invaded Sabon-Gida community, Bungudu Local Government Area in Zamfara State to abduct the students.

According to a resident named Nazeer Sabon-Gida, the gunmen arrived at around 3 am and began shooting indiscriminately.

They targeted three student hostels and took away all the students.

Despite a fierce gun battle with the Nigerian Army, the bandits managed to escape with the kidnapped victims. The situation is ongoing and requires immediate attention and action.

A Source who spoke with Channels said:

They entered the town around 3 am and started shooting indiscriminately.

“We have yet to confirm the number of students kidnapped because the bandits entered three hostels and kidnapped all the students there. It is difficult to ascertain their numbers now.”

Another source said:
They were seriously engaged with the army troops but the way these bandits operate, they will divide themselves into two, one group will move with the kidnapped victims while the other will stay behind to protect the first group.

“The first group had left with the students while the second group engaged the army in a gun duel.”
