Breaking: Borno Gets First Private University

Borno State has joined the lists of states with Private Universities in Nigeria.

The foundation laying ceremony of Al-Ansar University was performed along Gubio road, in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

The University will take off with two Colleges, in addition to the fundamental structure for the smooth running of the Institution.

Already, Borno State Government had earmarked hundred hectares of land for the laudable project.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum had ordered for the construction of a 2.3 kilometer road within the University alongside the construction of boreholes.

Governor Zulum also directed the State Ministry Of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation to liase with the founder of the University to see how Borno State Government will further support the implementation of the project.

Zulum further promised similar support for anyone desirous of making investment in the educational sector in the State.

In his address, the President of Al-Ansar and Founder of the University, Dr Muhammad Kyari Dikwa expressed gratitude to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for the support so far accorded him to actualize the project.
