President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has ordered for the immediate reopening of the nation’s land borders, Daily Report Nigeria can confirm.

This was announced by the Presidency in a tweet on Wednesday afternoon.

The Presidency tweeted; “President Buhari has directed the immediate opening of four land borders: Seme, Illela, Maigatari, and Mfun,” @NGRPresident tweeted.

Recall that Nigeria had in August 2019 closed its land borders in a bid to curtail illegal importation of drugs, small arms and agricultural products into the most populous black nation from neighbouring West African nations.
