Security tightened as body moves to Daura for burial
The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari arrived at the Umar Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina State on Tuesday, aboard the presidential aircraft from London.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led a high-powered government delegation to receive the late president’s body as it touched down.
Among those present were state governors, federal ministers, National Assembly members, and other senior government officials who gathered in solemn respect for Buhari, who died in a London hospital on Sunday, July 14.

The late president’s body is expected to be moved to Daura, his hometown in Katsina State, for final Islamic burial rites later today. Security around the airport and major routes to Daura has been intensified to manage the large crowd of mourners arriving from across the country.
