This latest triumph marks Chelsea’s third title win, having previously lifted the cup in the 2019–20, 2020–21, and now the 2024–25 seasons. The Blues have also finished as runners-up three times—in 2021–22, 2022–23, and 2023–24.

Manchester City, who are desperately trying to salvage their season, recently sacked Gareth Taylor as head coach.

The club appointed Nick Cushing, their former manager, in an attempt to steer the team back on track.

With City at risk of missing out on Champions League qualification for the second time in three years, pressure continues to mount.

Match Highlights: Chelsea’s Attack Overpowers City

The highly anticipated FA Women’s League Cup final unfolded at Pride Park, where Chelsea wasted no time asserting their dominance.

Mayra Ramírez opened the scoring for the Blues in the 8th minute, putting her team in the driver’s seat early on.

Manchester City responded in the 64th minute, when A. Fujino found the equalizer, reigniting hopes for the Citizens.

However, just 13 minutes later, City’s midfielder Y. Hasegawa accidentally redirected the ball into her own net, restoring Chelsea’s lead.

Chelsea maintained their attacking momentum, sealing their victory with a clinical performance, leaving Manchester City unable to recover.
