Human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi, has been granted bail by the Ekiti State High Court in the sum of N50 million.

The court also stipulated that the surety must possess a landed property and provide a bond of the same amount. The case has been adjourned to January 29, 2025, for further proceedings.

Farotimi, who was arrested by the Ekiti State Police Command, faced charges brought by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Afe Babalola. Babalola, 95, accused Farotimi of defaming him in his book Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
