BREAKING: Court Sacks All APC Candidates in Rivers

A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has nullified all the primaries conducted by the ruling All Progressive Congress in the state.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the court cited unlawful exclusion of some party members as delegates during the primaries.

The ruling followed a suit filed by some aggrieved members of the APC over their alleged exclusion from the exercise.

The aggrieved members had taken to the APC Secretariat in Port Harcourt to protest over the issue.

George Orlu, a claimant and four others had approached the court to request the nullification of the APC primaries in Rivers over their alleged exclusion in the process.

Delivering judgment, Justice E.A. Obile, ruled that the party members were unlawfully excluded from the primaries.

He, therefore, ruled that all those elected from the primary elections stand nullified and should not be recognised as candidates.

Recall that some aggrieved members of the APC loyal to the Governorship Candidate of Social Democratic Party, Senator Magnus Abe, had approached the Court to challenge the conduct of the primary election with claims of exclusion from the delegates’ primaries conducted in the state.
