Dangote Petroleum Refinery on Wednesday announced a significant reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, commonly referred to as petrol.
The price reduction, which is the second in February 2025, sees a decrease of N65.00, bringing the new price down to N825 per litre, effective Thursday, February 27, 2025.
According to the management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, this adjustment is designed to provide essential relief to Nigerians ahead of the Ramadan season.

With this latest reduction, Nigerians will be able to purchase Dangote petrol at discounted prices in all partner retail outlets.

The management of the refinery stated that the new prices for Dangote petrol in all partner retail outlets will be as follows: “For MRS Holdings stations, it will sell for N860 per litre in Lagos, N870 per litre in the South-West, N880 per litre in the North, and N890 per litre in the South-South and South-East, respectively.”
This price reduction is the second in February 2025, following a previous decrease of N60.00 earlier in the month.
In December 2024, the refinery reduced the price of PMS by N70.50, from N970 to N899.50 per litre.
Dangote Counters NMDPRA, Says Refinery Meets 100% of Nigeria’s Petrol Requirements
The President and Chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has countered the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority’s (NMDPRA) claim that local refineries meet only 50% of Nigeria’s petrol requirements.
Dangote stated that his 650,000 barrels per day refinery can meet Nigeria’s 100% petroleum production requirements.
