Africa’s hope at the Qatar World Cup, Morocco have had their dreams of a first FIFA World Cup trophy ended by defending champions, France.

Theo Hernandez gave Les Bleus an early lead in the first half with a full stretch kick from his stronger left foot.

Morocco refused to throw in the towel as they dominated possession in the remaining part of the half.

The Atlas Lions had goal scoring opportunities of their own but failed to capitalize on them as France looked for a killer goal.

Substitute Kolo Muani made it 2-0 on 79 minute as the defending champions marched into a second World Cup final in succession.

Morocco will have a chance at finishing on the podium in the third place match against Croatia on Saturday, while France will face off against Argentina in the 2022 World Cup Final on Sunday.
