The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, fell down at a public event on Thursday, September 16, 2021.

When the incident occurred, he was giving a speech at the National Identity Day ceremony at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He passed out unexpectedly and was helped by other guests, including Isa Pantami, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy.
He was subsequently rushed out of the event venue to undergo medical attention, though the cause of his condition has yet to be revealed.

Bawa is the youngest to ever lead the anti-graft agency (EFCC) at the age of 41.
