The Appeal Court in Lagos has upheld the election of Thomas Onowakpo of for Delta South Senatorial District. Daily Report Nigeria reports that the All Progressives Congress had his election voided and declared inconclusive by the National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal in Asaba, Delta State. During its sitting in Asaba, the tribunal declared the February 25 election inconclusive and ordered a re-run within 90 days in Warri South Local Government Area. The tribunal had earlier declared Michael Diden of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) eligible to contest the election. However, in its judgment on Wednesday, Justice Olubunmi Oyewole of the appellate court set aside the judgment of the tribunal and upheld the victory of Onowakpo at the poll.
