In a recent development at the Federal High Court in Lagos State, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a high-ranking official from Ikoyi Prisons.
The arrest was believed to be related to the ongoing dispute over the custody of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
The Ikoyi prison official, after being roughly handled and escorted into a DSS vehicle, was subsequently released by the secret service operatives.

Earlier, a minor altercation had occurred between DSS operatives and officials of the Nigeria Correctional Service at the Federal High Court, as they contended over the responsibility of safeguarding Emefiele.
The suspended governor, who faced charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, was granted bail in the amount of N20m with one surety, after entering a plea of “not guilty.
The defendant’s lawyers were in the process of finalizing the bail conditions when an unexpected incident occurred within the court premises.
