The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced that the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, is not in its custody.
The secret police made the disclosure via its Twitter handle on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
The tweet simply read, “Currently, Emefiele is not with the DSS.”

Daily Report Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu suspended Emefiele as CBN governor on Friday night.
Emefiele’s Suspension: Can The President Remove a CBN Governor?
Emefiele was ordered to vacate office with immediate effect and hand over to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate) to act as CBN governor pending the conclusion of the investigation and the reforms.
Meanwhile, Emefiele’s suspension was shortly followed by his reported arrest by the Department of State Services.
