A loud explosion was on Sunday night heard in the ATC area of Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.
This was confirmed by the state police command through its Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Usman Abdullahi.
Though Abdullahi did not give much details, persons from the area said the incident occurred at a drinking joint.

A source told Daily Post that the explosion was not a bomb, but that of a gas cylinder.
“The blasts that just occurred around our area in ATC was not a bomb blast, it was confirmed that it was a cooking gas cylinder belonging to a lady who fries egg and Indomie in the area,” the source said.
While no casualties could not be ascertained as of press time, several structures were destroyed by the explosion.
