Embattled House of Representatives member, Farah Dagogo is set for release from the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre.

In a video monitored by our correspondent, the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship aspirant was seen being rolled around in a wheelchair in preparation for his release.

Daily Report Nigeria can recall that the lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency was arrested on April 28, upon an arrest order by Governor Nyesom Wike.

Wike had accused the lawmaker of disrupting screening exercise for house of assembly aspirants with cultists a day earlier.

However, despite several court orders approving Dagogo’s release, he was still kept in police custody.

According to sources, there are strong indications that he could be released before the next hour.

Meanwhile, Farah Dagogo had dragged the Independent National Electoral Commission and the PDP to court for removing his name from the list of aspirants to contesting the governorship seat in Rivers.

It is still not clear if he will be allowed to participate in the elections if he is eventually released.
