The Federal Government of Nigeria has ordered for the reopening of secondary schools in the country for exiting classes only.
According to the new order, secondary schools are to resume on the 4th of August ahead of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination kick-off.

The new move was disclosed through an official tweet by the Ministry of Education on its verified Twitter handle, @NigEducation.

The statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations of the ministry, Ben Bem Goong stated that the decisions was reached at a virtual consultative meeting among the major stakeholmders in the education sector in the country.
“It was agreed that the exit classes should resume immediately after the Sallah break, from the 4th of August 2020 to enable them prepare for the WAEC examinations scheduled to commence from the 17th of August, 2020,” he stated.The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is set to start on August 17 across the country.
