BREAKING: FG Seeks to End Strike with Fresh Minimum Wage Talks

NLC Mulls Nationwide Strike Over Electricity Tariff Hike

The National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) has called an emergency meeting of the tripartite committee to discuss the new national minimum wage, scheduled for tomorrow.

The previous meeting on May 31 ended abruptly when the Organised Labour negotiating team exited the talks, dissatisfied with the government and Organised Private Sector’s (OPS) refusal to budge from their offer of N60,000.

Reports indicated that the government is concerned about the widespread support and participation in the ongoing indefinite nationwide strike which began on June 3.
