The Federal Government, in a bid to prevent the planned nationwide strike from October 3, has called for an emergency meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).

The meeting was scheduled to take place later this evening at the Aso Villa in the Conference Room of the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President.

Initially, the meeting was planned for 12 noon today but was rescheduled to the evening to allow Organised Labour to reach out to their leaders outside Abuja.
