Earlier in the week, close sources revealed that the former governor had slipped into a deep coma and was only placed on a life support machine.

The source also stated that his chances of recovering were bleak according to the observations of medical experts around him.

Other vital organs like lungs and kidney were also reported to have failed as the 70-year-old battled for his life.

Furthermore, doctors who treated Abiola Ajimobi disclosed to his family members that his condition had become critical and only a work of miracle would bring him back as at Friday, last week.

Ajimobi has joined a list of prominent Nigerians slain by the lethal virus including the late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari.

Recall that the hailing Ajimobi was declared the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress while on his sick bed.
