BREAKING: Gas Pipeline Explodes on Christmas Eve in Lagos

A gas pipeline has exploded in the
Ayobo Ipaja area of Lagos State.

Daily Report Nigeria gathered that the explosion occured around 1am on Friday, Christmas eve 2021.

While details of the explosion were sketchy as of the time, Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development, Mrs Bola Shobowale, confirmed the incident.

She however couldn’t ascertain the level of damage done or if there are casualties.

“It is true. It happened around 1 am. I am not in a position to state that. But the explosion is true,” she said.

However, some residents took to social media to seek help, and hinted of probable casualties.

One @IamHorlapo wrote, “A year ago, we woke up to a gas explosion in Baruwa. Today, it’s another Pipeline explosion in the same Local Government which has claimed life and property. God have mercy upon us in this community.

Another user @iamoliver_may22 said, “Guys, please. My street in Baruwa is burning. Guys, please send help to Baruwa… There is a gas explosion and there is a power line in that area.”
