Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has joined the race for the 2023 presidency.

The Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, will formally declare his intention to contest for the apex seat of power on Wednesday, May 4, in Abuja.

The former Minister of Solid Minerals Development will declare for the presidential race on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

Fayemi had postponed his declaration as a sign of respect to Muslims and Christians, saying declaring during Lent and Ramadan season was a disrespect.

Fayemi joins other notable aspirants National Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, Rochas Okorochas, Rotimi Ameachi, Minister of Transport amongst others.
