Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants in the state, effective May 1, 2024.

The development comes amid ongoing negotiations between the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Federal Government over a new national minimum wage to address rising inflation and food prices.
