Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Mrs. Christy Uroye, wife of Hon. Augustine Uroye, lawmaker representing Warri South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Mrs Uroye was kidnapped following an attack on her vehicle at about 6:30 pm on Monday evening along the popular Jakpa Road in Uwvie Local Government Area of Delta State.
A police officer attached to the lawmaker’s wife and her driver were reportedly shot dead by her abductors during the attack.

However, reacting to the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said, “the operation was not successful”.

Another source told Focal Point Report on phone that the abductor’s vehicle had an accident along the road in their recklessness to elope with their captive while the woman is now receiving treatment in a private hospital in the locality.
The source did not, however, confirm whether or not the abductors were arrested in the fracas.
