BREAKING: Hoodlums Attack Bauchi Lawmakers, Injure 6, Damage Vehicles

Hoodlums numbering over 50 on Monday attacked members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, injuring six of them in the process.

The assailants reportedly invaded a guest house on Sir Kashim Ibrahim Road, near the Bauchi State Government House to attack the lawmakers, who were in a meeting.

They attackers bearing various objects also smashed cars and the windows of the guest house in the incident that occured around 4pm.

The attack is coming just hours after unknown arsonists attempted to burn down the House of Assembly complex, but were repelled by security agents at the venue.

One of the injured victims, Ado Wakili, the lawmaker representing Burra Constituency in Ningi Council, said the hoodlums were armed with guns and other dangerous weapons.

“We were inside having a meeting when we suddenly heard noise and banging at the gate, as we rushed out to see what was happening, the hoodlums rushed in holding guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons.

“All of us scampered for safety and in the process, many of us including me, got injured as you can see on my face just below my eyes.

“They really turned everything upside down. By the time we came out, they had smashed all our cars and the windows of the house,” Wakili narrated.
