The lawmaker representing Oron Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom Statein the Federal House of Representatives, Nse Ekpenyong, is dead.
Mr Ekpenyong died on Saturday, April 23, at the age of 58.
His demise was confirmed by the chairman of Mbo Local Government Area, Asuqwo Eyo.

According to Asuqwo Eyo, Nse Ekpenyong was not ill before his death.
Mr Ekpenyong was a former member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
He also served as deputy chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa lbom state.
He would seen out a second term as lawmaker in May 2023.
Many if his followers and supporters have taken to social media to mourn his death.
Following Nse Ekpenyong death, the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, is expected to declare his seat vacant, which will be followed by an election conducted by INEC to replace the deceased.
