BREAKING: JAMB Postpones 2023 Mock UTME

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB, has postponed the 2023 Mock UTME earlier scheduled for Thursday, March 16, 2023.

According to the examination body, the postponement in date is due to the change in date of the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly Elections.

Daily Report Nigeria recalls that the polls were earlier scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2023, before being shifted to March 18, 2023.

In a statement on Monday, JAMB said the 2023 Mock UTME will now hold on Thursday, March 30, 2023.

What is JAMB 2023 Mock UTME

The mock UTME is an optional examination meant to provide opportunity for candidates to have hands-on experience with the system before the exams proper.

It will also afford the board an opportunity to ascertain its readiness and that of its partners for the main UTME.

The 2023 UTME is scheduled to hold from April 29 to May 12, 2023.

Announcing the details of the exam, JAMB said;

“The Board also wants to use this opportunity to announce that this year’s UTME would witness some groundbreaking innovations aimed at addressing observed infractions and centre failures.

“For instance, in the new regime, if there is a delay of up to one hour before the commencement of a particular session, that session stands cancelled and would be rescheduled along with the candidates.

“By the same token, no examination can be started one hour after the scheduled commencement time. The session will be scheduled for any vacant or available slot,” the statement added.

According to official statistics provided by JAMB, no fewer than 168,748 candidates registered to partake in the 2023 mock UTME from a total of over 1.5 million prospective candidates for the 2023 UTME examination.
