NNPP’s Rabiu Taura Dies

Alhaji Rabi’u Isah Taura, the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) candidate for Jigawa Northwest Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections, is dead.

Taura is reported to have died on Thursday morning following a prolonged battle with a severe backache.

Confirming the news, a friend of the deceased, Hon. Muhammad Mago described Taura’s demise as a great loss to both his immediate family, the entire Jigawa people and beyond.

He said; “The death of Rabi’u Taura has really shocked me, I pray to Allah SWT to grant him internal rest and gives his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”.

The deceased has served in several high offices in the state prior to his death.

He once served as the Jigawa State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Commissioner of Land and later as the Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources during the administration of Sule Lamido.

Taura subsequently joined NNPP alongside his political mentor, Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, who contested the Jigawa governorship seat under the NNPP.

The remains of Alhaji Rabi’u Isah Taura is set to be buried on Thursday according to Islamic rites in Taura Local Government.
