Comrade Aminu Abdussalam, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, has officially resigned from office, Daily Trust reports.
The announcement was made via a statement from Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, spokesperson for the Kwankwasiyya Movement. The resignation follows impeachment proceedings initiated by the Kano State House of Assembly, which a Federal High Court recently declined to halt.

“The Deputy Governor of Kano State has tendered his resignation from office,” the statement said, noting that the decision was taken in the interest of the people and the stability of governance in the state.

The movement clarified that Abdussalam’s resignation is not an admission of any allegations raised by the state assembly.
