Liverpool Football Club will be crowned the 2019/2020 English Premier League Champions as their closest rivals, Manchester City lost to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over City at the Bridge thus open up a 26-points gap between the Reds and City, who occupy second spot on the log.

Prior to the game, Liverpool led Manchester City by 23 points, and as the Citizen needed to beat The Blues to keep up any hopes of r reclaiming their crown alive.

The result thus allow Liverpool to win the league with eight matches to spare, as the Reds become the earliest team to win a Premier League title.

The 2019/2020 title is the club’s first league trophy in thirty years as well as their first win since the league was rebranded to the English Premier League 1990.

American star, Christian Pulisic had given the Blues the lead with a solo run on 35 minutes before City’s Belgian playmaker, Kelvin De Bruyne equalized with a free-kick for the Citizens.

Brazilian winger, Willian scored the decisive goal via the penalty spot as his fellow country man,
Fernandinho handled the ball and was sent off in the dying minutes of the game.
