BREAKING: Many Feared Dead as Church Members Scramble For Food Items in Rivers

Several members of a new generational church have been feared dead following a stampede that preceded the commencement of a programme in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

While the church identified as ‘Kings Assembly’ is located in the GRA axis of the Rivers capital, the said programme was set for the Polo Club, in a bid to accommodate a larger audience.

According to sources, the unusual crowd was as a result of an open invitation extended to the public.

The church had also announced the distribution of free food items during the program in commemoration of its fourth anniversary.

The expectant crowd is said to have started trooping into the venue at about 6:30am on Saturday, leading to the pulling down of a small entrance gate.

However, the amount of casualties could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
