The House of Representatives has declared the launch of Nigeria Air airline as fraudulent.

This is as the House poked holes in the purported launch of the airline at the tail end of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

The declaration was made by the Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation, Nnolim Nnaji following a denial by major stakeholders in the deal between the Federal Government and Ethiopian Airlines of any knowledge of the launch Nigeria Air.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Aviation had earlier claimed that Nigeria Air was only unveiled and not launched, a stance the committee dismissed as an attempt to divert the lawmakers’ attention.

However, Members of the committee were left in shock when the NAMA revealed that the aircraft which bore Nigerian colours was on a chartered flight to Nigeria.

Other stakeholders who confirmed the disclosure noted that a chartered flight could be painted in any colour and with any inscriptions.
