The popular Miller Waterside along the Nigerian Ports Authority road in Warri, Delta State, has been gutted by fire.

The raging inferno affected shops and houses along the Chief Tunde Smooth road on Wednesday evening.

While cause of the fire could not be ascertained as of press time, the no operative of the fire service was in sight.

Videos seen by our correspondent show locals fetching water from the river in an attempt to quench the fire.

The latest incident is coming less than three months after fire gutted the boatyard in the area.

The incident was caused by an inflammation of locally refined diesel parked at the waterfront.
