The National Universities Commission (NUC) has transferred the ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, to the Oyo State Government.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Government is to take over the College of Health Sciences in Osogbo.

This comes after the tussle of ownership of the institution between the Oyo and Osun states over the years.

Announcing the development, Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abubakar Rasheed, during a media briefing in Abuja, disclosed that both states Governors in persons of Seyi Makinde and Adegboyega Oyetola respectively signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoU).

Prof. Rasheed expressed optimism that the new development would restore peace to the academic institution.
