The Delta state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has directed the resumption of minimum wage payment for civil servants in the state.

In a letter signed by the state’s Accountant General, Mrs J.E Enwa and obtained by Daily Report Nigeria, the governor hinged the reversal of the previous suspension owing to recent developments across the country.

Mrs Enwa stated that the governor saw the need to resume the payment of minimum wage following the increase in pump price of fuel and electricity tariff.

As such, the government has directed the resumption of minimum wage payment effective from September salaries.
