Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has terminated the ongoing Ayakoromor bridge project in Burutu Local Government Area of the state.
According to the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, the slow pace of work by the contractors led to the decision.
Taking to his official Facebook page, Okowa expressed optimism that a new contractor would be announced in the coming weeks.

Okowa said;
“Due to the contractor’s slow work rate, earlier today, at the Delta State Executive Council, we terminated the contract of the Construction Company that is working on the Ayakoromo bridge in Burutu Local Government Area.
“Our priority is to leave behind a #StrongerDelta, therefore, all MDAs and contractors that are executing government policies, programs and projects must do so with the understanding that timelines and deliverables must always be met.
“I am optimistic that over the next few weeks, following due process, we will find a new contractor that can complete the project as soon as possible.”
