Osimhen Wins CAF Player of The Year 2023

Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has been crowned CAF African Player of the Year 2023

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the Napoli forward won the award Head of Egypt’s Mohammed Salah and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi.

Osimhen joins an illustrious list of Nigerians who had previously won the prestigious award.

They are Rashidi Yekini, Emmanuel Amuneke, Victor Ikpeba, and Nwankwo Kanu.

The towering goal poacher led Napoli to their first Scudetto title in over 30 years.

His 26 goals in Serie A saw him win the league’s top scorer award becoming the first African player to do so in the process.

Aside scoring another five goals in the UEFA Champions League for Napoli, Osimhen guided the Super Eagles to qualify for AFCON 2024 in Ivory Coast.
