BREAKING: Police Seals NNPP Headquarters, Arrests Senatorial Candidate

The Borno State headquarters of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPC has been sealed off by police.

The seal-off of the NNPP headquarters was authorized by the Borno state government on Thursday, in Maiduguri, the state capital.

DAILY REPORT gathered that the party’s headquarters as well as some of its offices were sealed by the Borno State Urban Development Management Board.

This was confirmed by the NNPP Borno State gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Umaru Alkali, while addressing newsmen in Maiduguri.

Alkali also disclosed that NNPP senatorial candidate for Borno Central, Hon Attom Muhammad Maigira, was arrested after he honored a police invitation.

The policemen were reportedly deployed to the NNPP Secretariat situated at the Abbaganaram and Gidan Maradara area from Wednesday to Thursday, in a bid to prevent party faithful from accessing their offices.

Dozens of anti-riot policemen and civilians joint task force (CJTF) have since taken over the secretariat as of press time.
