Several dozens of heavily armed police officers have taken over the national secretariat of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

The officers arrived in four patrol vans and blocked the entry and exit points on Blantyre Street in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Operatives of the Department of State Service were also spotted on the ground in a move that is attributed to preventing a possible breakdown of law and order in the area.

In a Punch report seen by Daily Report Nigeria, the security operatives responded to a planned protest by members of the APC against the party’s leadership over the conduct of the recently conducted ward, local government, and state congresses.
