President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Justice Ariwoola is replacing Justice Tanko Muhammad, who resigned in a letter dated June 26, 2022.
Justice Tanko cited hill health as his reason for resigning.

Justice Ariwoola will now serve as Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria until a substantive appointment is made.
Born August 22, 1958, Justice Ariwoola was formerly a Justice of the Court of Appeal before his elevation to the Supreme Court bench.
