Some members of the Federal House of Representatives have demanded for a switch to parliamentary system of government from the presidential one currently practiced in Nigeria.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the lawmakers number about 60 are seeking for an amendment to the 1999 Constitution to drive their demand.
The parliamentarians are led by Wale Raji of Lagos State under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The lawmakers cited the urgent need for the reduction of the cost of governance and robust policy debates among others as some of the reasons for demanding a return to the parliamentary system.
