BREAKING: Residents Protest Rejection of Old Naira Notes in Bayelsa | Daily Report Nigeria
SHARE

Protest has erupted in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State due to traders’ refusal to accept the old N500 and N1000 old Naira notes from residents.

Daily Report Nigeria gathered that the protest started from the Akenfa area of the state’s capital.

This is coming days after the Supreme Court ordered for the old naira notes to remain legal tender till December 31, 2023.

The apex court also voided the order of President Muhammadu Buhari declaring only the old N200 note and new notes as legal tender.

However, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on Thursday said it did not approve the recirculation of old naira notes till December 31, 2023.
