An early morning fire in Yola, Adamawa State, destroyed properties worth millions of naira.

This happened after a fuel-laden tanker exploded after colliding with the famed Maidoki roundabout near PZ industrial Layout.

The fuel tanker, registered YLA 23 XM, is said to have crashed while crossing the roundabout.

The subsequent explosion burned many shops and properties in flames.

Although no one was killed, about N35 million in property was reportedly lost.

 

Mr. Femi Williams, a victim of the accident and the owner of several of the buildings damaged by the fire, revealed that the fire destroyed approximately 20 establishments.

He claimed that the explosion also wrecked two of his vehicles and industrial drilling equipment

Federal and state firefighters, as well as security personnel reacting to an emergency calls, were still on the scene at the time of filing this report, struggling to put out the roaring fire and maintain public order.

Motorists and traffic near the fire event have been grounded as a result of the catastrophe, which has interrupted movements along the road
