Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori has emerged winner of the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
Sheriff, who is said to be the anointed successor of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, coasted home to victory in an unchallenged fashion.
The lawmaker polled 590 votes out of a possible 825 votes.

Former Chief of Staff to Governor Okowa, Olorogun David Edevbie came in second place with a paltry 113 votes.
Other notable faces who lost out in the Delta 2023 governorship race include Senator James Manager (83 votes), Deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro (9 votes), Fred Majemite (6 votes), Peter Mrakpor (9 votes), Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, amongst others.
