Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has resigned his position as Chairman of the Governors Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Tambuwal announced his resignation at the ongoing Board of Trustees meeting in Abuja.
His resignation follows the appointment of former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara as acting Chairman of PDP Board of Trustees.

Daily Report earlier reported that the former presidential aspirant will resign to make room for a Southern Governor to fill the position.
“The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, will also resign shortly as the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum,” a source had said.
Following Tambuwal’s resignation, an ally of Governor Nyesom Wike or himself would be expected to fill the role.
