Confirming the incident, the Youth President of Ogulagha community, Comrade ThankGod Iyoragba, said the deceased in company of three others had gone to pick snails in the forest close to the Forcados Terminal, when the soldiers accosted them.

According to Iyoragba, Ebi was left frightened by the sight of the soldiers and resorted to take to his heels, before being shot.
