President Bola Tinubu has announced an increase in minimum wage in Nigeria.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Tinubu announced the increase of minimum wage in the country during his speech on Independence Day.

President Tinubu announced an increase in minimum wage for low-grade workers by N25,000 for the next six months.

The move serves as part of measures aimed towards ameliorating the effects of current economic reforms, particularly the fuel subsidy removal.

President Tinubu also urged Nigerians to be patient with his administration and the reforms they are putting on revamping the country’s economy.

The development will see minimum wage rise to N55,000 if implemented.
