BREAKING: Tinubu Meets With Traditional Rulers
President Bola Tinubu on Friday, held his first meeting with traditional rulers from across the country at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting was part of Tinubu’s consultations with various stakeholders across the country and was expected to discuss sundry issues, including how to achieve national healing and unity.
In his opening remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar who led his colleagues to the meeting, congratulated Tinubu and assured him of their support in the huge task of running the nation.

Abubakar stated that the council of traditional rulers was teeming with professionals from various fields of human endeavour, making the council a useful tool for the President to draw expertise. The traditional rulers pledged to always answer his calls whenever he needs their services.
The Sultan of Sokoto expressed his confidence in President’s ability to lead the country towards progress. The traditional rulers pledged their support for Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, emphasizing their willingness to assist him in any way possible.
During the meeting, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Adewus urged Tinubu to make greater use of traditional rulers in addressing the issue of insecurity.
He emphasized the importance of their involvement in finding solutions to this critical problem and urged the President to take advantage of their expertise and experience.
Adewus said:
“Mr President, use us. Use us. Use us.”
The meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume; Sultan of Sokoto, the Ooni of Ife, Emir of Kano, Obi of Onitsha, Tor Tiv, Etsu Nupe, Deji of Akure, SGF, Shehu of Borno, Permanent Secretary, Elegushi of Ikate, Jaja of Opobo, Lamido of Adamawa, Emir of Zauzzau, Gbong Gwom Jos, Attah Igala, Alake of Egbaland, Shehu of Borno, a representative of the Oba of Benin.
