President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate suspension of the National Social Investment Program Agency National Coordinator, Halima Shehu.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Halima’s suspension is premised on allegations of financial misappropriation.
The President further appointed Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Program Manager as acting NC/CEO of the scheme pending the conclusion of the investigation.

The development is coming barely three months after she was confirmed by the Senate.

Halima’ previously worked as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme.
She also served with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development between 2017 and 2022.
