President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed Inspector General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun and appointed Assistant Inspector General Olatunji Disu as his replacement.

According to Presidency sources speaking to The Eagle Online, formal confirmation of the change is expected “in a matter of minutes.”

Disu was recently promoted to AIG and deployed to lead the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos.

Egbetokun, born on September 4, 1964, had his tenure extended by Tinubu; he was originally set to retire in September 2024 before the extension.
