Eight-game winless run in league sealed manager’s fate.
Tottenham Hotspur have sacked manager Thomas Frank following a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United that left the club struggling in the Premier League relegation zone battle.
Frank, who took over in June 2025 after a successful spell at Brentford, departs having spent less than eight months in charge of Spurs.

In a statement, the club’s board confirmed that results and performances had prompted the decision, adding that Frank had been given time and support but the team’s league position made a change necessary.

The 52-year-old leaves Tottenham lying 16th in the Premier League, just five points above the relegation zone after a run of poor domestic form that included no league wins in eight matches so far in 2026.
Supporters had repeatedly expressed frustration at results, with chants calling for his dismissal during the Newcastle game.
Frank’s tenure was also marked by a low win percentage — the worst for any Spurs manager in the Premier League era — despite achievements in Europe earlier in the season, including guiding the club into the Champions League knockout stages.
Tottenham have yet to announce a replacement, but an interim appointment is widely expected as the club now looks to arrest its slide with key matches looming in the weeks ahead.
